Ross holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Victoria and an Advanced Performance Certificate from Vancouver Community College.He also has his Level One Orff Schulwerk Ceritificate from the University of British Columbia and Level Two Certificate from Hamline University. He received an Outstanding Musician Award from the National Association of Jazz Educators and attended the Pacific Jazz Workshop and masterclasses of Nick Fiore, Marcel Moyse, Gervaise de Peyer and Eugene Rousseau. In addition to teaching Saxophone, Clarinet and Flute Ross works as a freelance musician playing both classical music and jazz in the Vancouver area and has played on the CBC Radio and in films and Television. He finds time to teach one or two hours of preschool music a week and one or two weeks in the summer. He enjoys teaching all levels whether for fun or exams and festivals. Over the years some of his students have been accepted at programs in all the local college and university music programs as well as McGill and Humber College.
